Saturday Morning

We’ve been a little worried about freezing our butts off winter camping, but I gotta say last night was great.  We pulled into a small clearing at the side of the road and made camp; we’re still working out the bugs in our packing/organizing but it’s getting better.

We didn’t need to cook dinner as we had picked up a fresh Fort Chip pizza at “The Break” in Fort Chip (we are really going for the local cuisine on this trip.)

Between the down sleeping bags, Helly Hanson long underwear, down booties, flannel pants, Fleece sleeping bag liner, toque and down parka draped over top we were a touch warm and slept quite fitfully all night with minimal tossing and turning.

We arose around eight, cooked some delicious oatmeal, and proceeded to repack and organize the entire truck.  We shifted some weight forward to relieve the back springs a bit and better balance the jeep.  Inside we buried the things we know we’re not going to use and made available the food and stove for our chili lunch today!

Pete and I are looking quite dashing in our matching blue thermal shirts, jeans, and boots and an awesome set of hair doos.

Now on our way to Fort Smith.
